"Should Christians support the nation of Israel?" Answer:Christians should definitely support the nation of Israel. We must remember that Israel, the nation, is very special to God. We read inDeuteronomy 7:6-8these words: "For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his people, his treasured possession. The LORD did not set his affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath he swore to your forefathers that he brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt." God's eternal purpose is to bless the world through Israel. Already He has done so in measure, for "salvation is from the Jews" (John 4:22), but the fullness of future blessing is indicated in the wondrous promise ofIsaiah 27:6: "In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit." The declaration that "salvation is from the Jews” suggests our immeasurable debt to Israel. All that we have worth having has come to us through the Jews. Our Bible is a Jewish Book, and our Savior is a Jewish Savior. Let us never forget to pray for God's chosen people. It is true that Israel, today, is in the place of rejection. The nation is a secular, unbelieving (as to the claims of Scripture and their Messiah, Jesus Christ) nation; but "…at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace" (Romans 11:5). Some Jews are being saved and are becoming members of the body of Christ through faith in their Messiah. Jews are, biblically speaking, the "chosen people of God" and dearly loved by Him. Another reason for Christians to support the nation of Israel is because of the Abrahamic Covenant. We read of God’s promise inGenesis 12:2-3, "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you" (see alsoGenesis 27:29;Numbers 24:9). One of the United States’ most worthwhile accomplishments has been its consistent regard for the plight of the Jewish nation. No nation in the history of the world has a better record of treating individual Jews with respect than does America. The same can be said for our befriending Israel as a nation. America has committed many sins for which we may well deserve judgment, but as a nation, we have been a consistent friend of the Jews and the nation of Israel, as well as a benefactor. In 1948, President Harry Truman helped persuade the United Nations to recognize Israel as a nation. Since then, the United States has contributed billions of dollars in aid to Israel. From the biblical declarations of God's love and care for His chosen people, the nation of Israel, and from the history of nations being destroyed because of their evil dealings with God's chosen people, the Jews, Christian believers should give support to the chosen people of God. This is not to say that we support necessarily the methods they use in their relationships with the Arab nations. The Bible warned that conflict would always characterize the relations between the descendants of Isaac and Ishmael. Sadly, this conflict will continue until Jesus comes back to judge the nations and sets up His 1,000-year reign of peace on earth. We must look at the "big picture” with a biblical worldview. While we do not have to support everything Israel does as a nation, we most definitely should support Israel’s right to exist. God will fulfill His promises and covenants with Israel. God still has a plan for Israel. Woe to anyone who seeks to defeat that plan; “whoever curses you I will curse” (Genesis 12:3).

CRONYISM

Cronyism is partiality to long-standing friends, especially by appointing them to positions of authority, regardless of their qualifications. Hence, cronyism is contrary in practice and principle to meritocracy. Cronyism exists when the appointer and the beneficiary are in social contact; often, the appointer is inadequate to hold his or her own job or position of authority, and for this reason the appointer appoints individuals who will not try to weaken him or her, or express views contrary to those of the appointer. Politically, "cronyism" is derogatorily used.

Oil and Gas Myth's

MYTH #1. We are running out of oil! No we are not. #2. The U.S. gets most of it's oil from the middle east-wrong, it comes from Canada, Mexico, U.S. and Brazil...in that order. #3. Electric cars are better for the environment-wrong, they run on electricity, most of the electricity in this country comes from coal, enviromentalists hate coal. If you are going to talk, protest, vote or have an opinion on this matter, educate yourself!!!!!!!

Memorial Day 2012

My husband and I had the opportunity to spend a couple days this Memorial weekend with 2 retired Navy Seals. What a great weekend. These guys are awesome. Not only are they tough, courageous, talented, and "bad ass", they shared their human side with us as well. They told stories that we could only dare to imagine...war stories. These brave guys, and thousands before them and after them, give so much. We have no idea, and until you actually get the opportunity to know one, talk to one, hear one, the life of a soldier sometimes seems like simply something we see on TV, or in a movie. They are so brave, so patriotic, they love God and their country. And they SACRIFICE. They put their lives on the line, for us, for their country. To be around these guys was such a gift. While Memorial Day is a day to remember, and be thankful for those who served or are serving, we need to remember these guys and gals daily. Everyday there are soldiers out there risking their lives. If you don't know a soldier or haven't had the opportunity to get to know one, I hope you someday do. Meanwhile you can pray for them, pray for their safety, pray for their lives, and pray for their return home.

Class Warfare

What the heck? Why is the left calling for a class warfare on the rich? Where would we be without them? What do you think the wealthy do all day? Sit around having their nails done, flying on their jets, sipping champagne? Get real, if they are doing those things, its because they earned it! It's because of them and their businesses, investments, and ideas, that we even have a job market left! They create jobs! Repeat after me-They Create Jobs! And...to anyone out there who is bashing wealthy people-who do you think gives more to charities? Who starts non-profit foundations to help those in need? The rich! And if you are claiming that they are the big bad evil rich people-shame on you! Tell me you don't strive to be better, make more money, provide more for your family????? Tell me you wouldn't like to be wealthy???? Quit feeling sorry for yourself. Here's the deal, money can't buy you happiness, or save your soul. But it can provide a better way of life, and if you have a heart and a giving spirit, and try to live your life as Jesus would...think of what you could do to make the world a better place if you had more money. Quit attacking the people doing things that you don't have the ambition to do...

Earth's Final Moments

I have been reading John Hagee's Earth's Final Moments.
As disturbing as it is...it also brings me peace and security knowing God's Word is true. With all the turmoil in the world, simply turning on the news can be one of the hardest things to do these days. Obamacare, nuclear war, Korea, Iran, Afghanistan, the Middle East, Egypt, terrorists, killings, riots, you know what I mean, the list goes on and on. These are truly turbulent times!
But here's the deal, the bible tell us all of this! As Christians why are we surprised when we hear this news? I know one reason, amidst all of this turmoil, HE gives us HOPE. He tells us what is to come, but also says no one will know the exact time of His return. HE will come like a thief in the night. And while we are here on earth, we are to love, work, live our lives as Christ would, but know that HE will return!
So, how do we get through all these scary times? Faith. Keep your faith. Keep your focus on HIM. And know all things to come are in HIS hands.
The last line of this book (I recommend you all read it) says "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad-the best is yet to be." Amen! :)

Negativity Among the GOP Race

Really sick and tired of the negative remarks each of our candidates for the GOP nomination are saying. I wish these guys would just tell us what THEY will do. What THEY will stand for, instead of wasting our time telling us all the bad things their opponent stands for! Come on guys, tell me what YOU are going to do when you get the most powerful job in the world! I need to know, so I can make an educated decision! Just sayin'.....

Sodom and Gomorrah

Okay, day after day the news is terrible. But some days are just worse than other days! Today is one of those days. The headlines today are: Cain and a sex scandal, Penn State Coach child abuse sex scandal, a missing mom, still no word on a missing baby girl. Corruption cover-up in the White House regarding Solyndra, Justin Bieber and a sex scandal...the list goes on and on and on and on...
My husband and I always joke around and say it's Sodom and Gomorrah. No joke, that's exactly what it is.....ugh!
